Monica Waid  - Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA)
  • Graston Technique, Level I

  • 2018 Graduate of Jefferson College of Health Sciences (Carilion Radford University)

Prior to beginning my career as a physical therapist assistant, I worked in the insurance industry for 26 years. After being affected by downsizing in 2013; I was blessed with the opportunity to follow my dream of becoming a PTA. I attended Virginia Western Community College, later transferring to Jefferson College of Health Sciences, where I graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant program in 2018.

As a physical therapist assistant, I have worked in various environments including; sports focused outpatient, in/out patient therapy at Alleghany Lewis Gale hospital, and in acute care at Carilion Clinic Roanoke Memorial hospital; prior to finding my home here at Roanoke Rehabilitation and Wellness.

Outpatient is where my heart is. I enjoy being a part of a patient’s healing process, and helping a patient reach the goals set by the Physical Therapist and the patient. Here at RRW every person is an individual and their treatment is focused on their personal situation. That is what sets RRW apart from other out patient therapies.

I have training in Vestibular disorders, dizziness and balance, orthopedic rehabilitation, strengthening and plan on continuing my education in Myofascial Release and continuing education classes.

I have been a member of the APTA since 2015.
