I began my Physical Therapy career in Atlanta, GA, after graduating from Emory University. I worked in a variety of settings, including acute care, out-patient, sports medicine, skilled nursing and home healthcare. I had the pleasure of assisting in with start-up of Greater Atlanta Sports Medicine and enjoyed a clinical affiliation with Shepherd Spinal Center. I spent two years in Hanover, PA, helping to establish a private outpatient practice, assisting in quality improvement and updating practices in an acute hospital setting and skilled nursing facility. I am a member of the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association) since 1987. I returned to my hometown of Roanoke, VA in 1989; proud graduate of Cave Spring High School 1981. Go Knights!
In December 2003, I opened Roanoke Rehabilitation and Wellness, which has proudly served clients of the Roanoke Valley for 23 years. I have maintained a Pro Bono relationship with Gentle Shepherd Hospice for more than 36 years. I deeply care for hospice patients and their families.
I have three adult children who are my pride and joy. As the mother of children on the autism spectrum and with visual impairments, I work to make RRW accessible to children and adults with special needs. I value connecting with other families who have special needs, autistic, or visually impaired members.
In my personal time, I enjoy reading, knitting, crocheting, riding motorcycles, and RV’ing when the opportunity arises. I have a newfound passion in the aquatic therapy world.
I am an avid (RABID) hockey fan. I have been a supporter of the Rail Yard DAWGs for years, and when possible, I travel to Washington, DC to watch the CAPS take the ice.
I am a dedicated life-long learner, which is why I remain committed to continuing my education and training; it is a high priority for my personal and professional life. My faith and belief in serving others with a grateful heart is my foundation and driving force.

2018 Graduate of Jefferson College of Health Sciences (Carilion Radford University)
Prior to beginning my career as a physical therapist assistant, I worked in the insurance industry for 26 years. After being affected by downsizing in 2013; I was blessed with the opportunity to follow my dream of becoming a PTA. I attended Virginia Western Community College, later transferring to Jefferson College of Health Sciences, where I graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant program in 2018.
As a physical therapist assistant, I have worked in various environments including; sports focused outpatient, in/out patient therapy at Alleghany Lewis Gale hospital, and in acute care at Carilion Clinic Roanoke Memorial hospital; prior to finding my home here at Roanoke Rehabilitation and Wellness.
Outpatient is where my heart is. I enjoy being a part of a patient’s healing process, and helping a patient reach the goals set by the Physical Therapist and the patient. Here at RRW every person is an individual and their treatment is focused on their personal situation. That is what sets RRW apart from other out patient therapies.
I have training in Vestibular disorders, dizziness and balance, orthopedic rehabilitation, strengthening and plan on continuing my education in Myofascial Release and continuing education classes.
I have been a member of the APTA since 2015.
